2012 Friendship Ball Gift Awards - RFP


Jackson 2000, a nonprofit, civic organization that works to bring the community together by promoting racial and ethnic harmony and facilitating racial understanding, is now seeking proposals from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in the greater Jackson community interested in receiving a financial gift from the proceeds of its 2012 Friendship Ball. 

In the past, the gifts from the Friendship Ball have ranged from $1,000 to $3,000. The gifts may be awarded to more than one recipient, as determined by the Jackson 2000 Friendship Ball Gift and Award Review Committee.

Interested nonprofit organizations are requested to submit on a separate attachment, a proposal (not more than two typed pages) answering the questions below:

1.       How does the work of your organization promote racial harmony and facilitate racial understanding in the greater Jackson community?

2.       How would your organization use this gift from Jackson 2000?  Please describe the plans and goals and how they will relate to promoting racial harmony and facilitating racial understanding.

Please submit your proposal and a copy of your IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter on or before December 30, 2011 to:
